Sheryl uses her Kuku Yalanji culture to inform her knowledge of traditional stories and life style and to use contemporary means to express her ideas. Wurarr-wurarr (oo-ard oo-ard) is the Kuku Yalanji name for Dragonfly, which is depicted in her works here. Like the Dragonfly, Kuku Yalanji people feel a deep connection to their traditional lands.
