Sending to the USA from Australia - how long it really takes

You're probably wondering how long it takes to post to them though, right?!
We often get asked how long gifts take to get delivered overseas to popular American destinations like California, Florida, Washington, New Orleands, Texas and more.... so in this post we look at actual (not approximate) times it took to get gifts overseas via Australia Post Economy, Australia Post Express, and by DHL Courier when sending from our gift company, I Still Call Australia Home.
How long it took to post your Australian gift to the USA
Overall, it took anywhere between 2 to 15 working days* for gifts to get delivered from Australia to the USA from 01 December 22 to 31 January 23 for our 'I Still Call Australia Home.com' gift deliveries over a 2 month period.

This is pretty good we think - considering this period covers both a Christmas rush plus a quieter time for carriers following that.
Below the diagrams show the shortest, longest, and average times it took for your Australian made or Australian themed gifts from Australia to reach places like New York, New Orleans, California, Washington or Florida (as examples) in the USA; as well as to Hawaii for each service type - either Economy Post, Express Post or Express Courier.
Economy post to USA from Australia - how long it took
Economy Post is the most economical way to send a gift or package to the USA.
The gifts in the sample below were sent via Australia Post Economy Mail, with the shortest delivery time taking 5 days*; the longest time of 15 days*; and the average time to deliver to America was 8 days*.
Express post to USA from Australia - how long it took
When you select 'Express Post' as your method of sending a gift on our website, we send it with Australia Post Express.
The gifts in the sample below had the the shortest express post delivery time of 4 days*; the longest time of 7 days*; and the average time to deliver to America was 6 days*.
Express Courier to USA from Australia - how long it took
When you select 'Express Courier' as your method of sending a gift on our website, we send it with DHL Express.
Because DHL Express own a fleet of planes, they get there faster as they have direct routes to America (often to L.A. or Chicago) from Australia.
The gifts in the sample below had the the shortest express courier delivery time of 4 days*; the longest time of 7 days*; and the average time to deliver to America was 6 days*.
How long it takes to send to USA - the fine print
It's worth noting that all the above deliveries represent a sample of actual gifts sent to America for your VIPs from our online store I Still Call Australia Home.com
They exclude any gifts that have been stopped by customs - which can cause delays of any time - but are approximately 2-4 weeks. Because stops by customs are random, you can count on a 2% chance yours will be stopped (so a very slim chance albeit a real one).
