Pizza Shapes were first produced in Victoria, Australia in the 1950s by Arnotts. The reason for the name 'Shapes' is because of the different shapes of the different flavours.
They were originally shaped in the same shape as a potato chip, however there was a lot of waste of dough in this process, and manufacturing them en-masse was difficult because they were hard to cut consistently.
