Sacha Long Petyarre

sacha long petyarre aboriginal artist

Sacha Long Petyarre is an emerging First Nations, Australian artist from Utopia, Northern Territory. Her language is Alyawarre and she is the daughter of artist, Marcia Turner.

Her original paintings predominantly depict the Bush Medicine Leaf design that was made famous by Gloria Petyarre, an artist from the same region.

The Bush Medicine Leaf design reflects the women's process of collecting specific leaves from the bush to be used in medicine and putting them out to dry.  They then get ground down to a fine powder, and mixed with animal fat to extract the medicinal qualities.

Her beautiful works have a mesmerising rhythm and deep meaning. They are beautifully depicted on these Aboriginal Art Gifts.

Royalties directly benefit the artist from sale of these goods.
