How much it costs to send a package from the UK to Australia

THE CHEAPEST: SEA MAIL

The cheapest way to send a 5kg package to the UK is by Sea Mail. You need to be  happy to wait 2-3 months for it to be delivered, and this is without tracking or signature on delivery on your package.

SECOND CHEAPEST: GO THROUGH A GIFT COMPANY THAT HAS GREAT FLAT RATES ON POSTAGE

The next cheapest, and also much faster, is the gifts and gift hampers that I Still Call Australia Home send to the UK. Following that, your next best option for DIY gifting is then Australia post. Their standard airmail takes 6 business days and has tracking on it. STILL WANT TO DO IT YOURSELF?

If you want your parcel there faster than the standard air mail 6 days and you want to do it yourself,  you’ll have to pay more. The higher cost services generally are excellent and worth the money if it is something truly special you are sending.

Make sure the value of the package is in line with customs allowances if you don’t want the receiver to pay UK duties and taxes the other end.
